Ranvir Sena, CPI-ML clash in Bihar, 7 killed

Anand Mohan Sahay in Patna

Seven people were killed and four injured on Friday afternoon in a clash between the Communist Party of India-Marxist/Leninist and the Ranvir Sena, a private army of landlords, at Kurmina village in Bhojpur district, Bihar.

The dead included four Ranvir Sena supporters, two CPI-ML supporters and a woman.

The police has arrested 22 supporters of the CPI-ML in this connection and launched a manhunt to nab Ranvir Sena activists suspected to be behind this clash.

Police officials told rediff.com that tension prevailed in the district after the killings.

Tensions between the CPI-ML and the Ranvir Sena increased after the arrest of Sena chief Brahmeshwar Singh alias Mukhiya in August by Patna police.
