Permission given to supply food, medicines to Nagappa: Emissary

Sadananda R in Chamarajanagar

Ponnachi Mahadevaswamy, the emissary designated by the Karnataka government to negotiate with forest brigand Veerappan for the release of former state minister H Nagappa, claimed on Saturday that the government has given permission to supply food and medicines to the abducted minister.

But he declined to say whether he was successful in his mission.

Criticicing agricultural processing minister and Nagappa's political rival Raju Gowda's allegations that the fourth cassette is fabricated and aimed at framing him, Mahadevaswamy, who is the president of Kollegal block Janata Dal-United president, asked the minister not to 'mix politics in this issue'.

"We should try our best to get Nagappa released from Veerappan's hold as early as possible," he said.
