Three more persons killed in Ahmedabad

Three persons, including a 30-year-old woman, were stabbed to death and two others injured in different parts of Ahmedabad, even as violence continued unabated in parts of Gujarat on Sunday, police said.

A woman was stabbed to death and a boy injured in Gupta Nagar locality of Vejalpur police station area, which was later put under curfew, the police said.

Another person was injured in Kagdabith police station area while two others were stabbed to death in Madhuoura police station area in the evening, they said.

Indefinite curfew continued to remain in force in five police station areas of Kalupur, Dariapur, Karanj, Shahpur and Haveli, while night curfew continued in Danilmida police station area.

Meanwhile, the imam of Ahmedabad said no Muharram procession would be taken out on Monday.

"We want peace and harmony. And if we hold some procession and someone conspires to create tension during it, our festival will be defamed," Maulana Mukti Shabir Alam told Star News.
