Army personnel employed four Indian Air Force choppers besides 16 motorised boats in relief and rescue operations in the worst-hit districts of Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Sheohar and Madhubani in Bihar.
The Bagmati, which was flowing 91 cm above the danger mark at Benibad, was rising steadily. All other major rivers - Kosi, Kamala, Balan, Mahananda and Gandak - were in spate crossing the danger marks at various places.
Meanwhile, the death toll touched 75 on Friday after 26 more deaths were reported from flood-hit Saupal and Gopalganj districts.
In Assam, army launched relief and rescue operation in various districts as the toll rose to 11 with an eight-year-old girl and her brother being washed away by the mighty Brahmaputra at Tengaguri in Nagaon district.
Nearly 200,000 people in 200 villages were reeling under the fury of the Brahmaputra, which washed away roads, bridges and embankments, forcing people to take shelter on highlands and makeshift relief camps.
The situation was also grim in Nalbari, Barpeta, Goalpara and Dhubri districts with road and communication systems disrupted in several areas.
With water level in most rivers receding, the flood situation in the north Bengal districts of Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri has improved.
However, the meteorological department has forecast more rains in the next 24 hours.
