Paswan demands President's rule in Gujarat

Lok Jan Shakti Party president and former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday demanded imposition of President's rule in Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir before the assembly elections in the two states.

"For free and fair assembly elections President's rule is only option," he said in Patna.

He termed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's decision to dissolve the assembly as anti-constitutional.

He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was more interested in votes than peace in Gujarat, he said.

The former minister announced that he would undertake a Samajik Sadbhawna Yatra in Gujarat from July 20 to 25 to spread the message of communal harmony.
