A 'technical snag' in the Chennai-bound Indian Airlines flight that MDMK leader V Gopalaswamy, popularly known as Vaiko, was to board from Mumbai on Thursday has delayed his arrival in Chennai.
He is expected to arrive in the city only at 1630 hours IST by a Jet Airways flight.
The MDMK leader is facing an arrest warrant under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) for making pro-LTTE speeches.
The Tamil Nadu police has taken steps to detain Vaiko at the Chennai airport on his arrival.
Vaiko was in the US when the warrant was issued. He advanced his date of arrival by two days, to July 12, after the Tamil Nadu government decided to detain him under POTA.
