While demanding the extradition of 20 criminals and terrorists from Pakistan, India in the form of evidence has provided Interpol Red Corner notices and details of the crimes committed by them along with their fake names, Pakistani passports and ID numbers.
The evidence relating to the 20, provided by India on January 18 to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, includes case sheets along with Red Corner notices from Interpol with a two-page covering letter.
The covering letter mentions the 1989 agreement between the then heads of the Central Bureau of Investigation and Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency to cooperate and work together in cases of this nature.
The agreement specifically provides for FIA in Pakistan and CBI in India to act as nodal agencies in their respective countries to locate and trace fugitives and to arrange handing over such wanted criminals to their respective countries, the letter said.
The letter also mentions the communication of Pakistan President Pervez Mushrraf to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 13 in which he had expressed shock at the terrorist attacks on Parliament and strongly condemned it.
