Veerappan sends second cassette

Veerappan, who abducted a former Karnataka minister on Sunday night, is believed to have sent another cassette, in which he is reported to have spelt out his demands for the release of abducted for Karnataka minister H Nagappa, official sources said on Friday.

In the earlier cassette sent on the day of the abduction, Veerappan had accused both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments of 'cheating' him by not fulfilling his earlier demands and threatened to kill Nagappa if security forces launched combing operations to nab him.

Karnataka DGP V V Bhaskar and top police officials are currently camping at Kamagere village, from where Nagappa was abducted, and engaged in efforts to ensure his safe release.

Sources said Chief Minister S M Krishna is likely to go visit Kamagere later on Friday to hold consultations with top police and officials of the Joint Special Task Force, set up to nab Veerappan.
