Centre-NSCN (Khaplang) ceasefire extended

The Centre and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-Khaplang) have agreed to extend the ceasefire for one more year with effect from April 28, Union Home Minister L K Advani announced in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

In a brief statement, he recalled that government had entered into a formal ceasefire with the NSCN (K) for a period of one year from April 28 last year.

"During this period, there have been discussions between representatives of Government of India and the NSCN (K). Both sides are satisfied with the progress made so far in implementing the ceasefire," he added.
