However, they were evasive on whether they would support a censure motion in Parliament on the Gujarat issue.
The allies were likely to meet on Tuesday to hold consultations on their floor strategy on the issue.
Several allies of the BJP, including Devendra Prasad Yadav (Janata Dal, United), Prabhunath Singh (Samata Party), K Yerran Naidu (TDP), met after Parliament adjourned for the day to discuss their strategy.
"Secularism is not a state issue, but a national issue and we stick to our stand on Gujarat," Yerran Naidu said.
Asked what the party's stand would be if a censure motion was admitted under Rule 184, he said: "We will definitely participate in the discussion on the motion. So far as voting is concerned, our politburo will decide."
When asked how long the TDP would wait for its demand to be met, he said there could be no fixed timeframe.
