BJP rules out replacing Narendra Modi

Despite the Telugu Desam Party joining the chorus of some National Democratic Alliance allies and opposition parties for the ouster of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday night ruled out change of leadership in the state.

Party spokesman Sunil Shastri declared that it would not come under pressure of anyone on the issue and the 'question of replacing Modi does not arise'.

He was commenting on the TDP resolution seeking Modi's removal.

"The state BJP legislature party has elected Modi as its leader and he will continue. We will not come under pressure of anyone whether it is opposition or any other party," Shastri said.
