Modi visits injured cameraman at hospital

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called on injured NDTV cameraman Pranav Joshi, who was injured in Sunday's police assault on mediapersons at Sabarmati Ashram, at a private hospital in Ahmedabad.

Joshi, a heart patient, suffered serious head injuries when the police used force on the mediapersons, who had gone to cover two peace meetings.

In one of the peace meetings convened by famous danseuse Mallika Sarabhai, Narmada Bachchao Andolan leader Medha Patkar had landed, which created a commotion as a mob grew to protest her presence, resulting in use of police force and injuries to many journalists.

Earlier in the morning, Modi had talked to Joshi over telephone and expressed apology for what had happened. In the evening, he visited him at the hospital

Modi expressed sorrow at the incident and wished Joshi a speedy recovery.
