Modi tells police officials to act tough with miscreants

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday instructed police officials to deal sternly with anyone trying to create an atmosphere of terror and disharmony in the state.

While reviewing the law and order situation in the state at a high-level meeting of officials from the police and home department in Ahmedabad, he said anyone trying to take the law into his hands would be dealt with sternly.

He asked the police to keep a watch on elements from outside Gujarat attempting to take advantage of the prevailing situation.

Among those who attended the meeting were Home Secretary K Nityanand and Ahmedabad Police Commissioner P C Pandey, according to official sources.
