Mohammed Afroz, who was earlier detained under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Ordinance (POTO), had been discharged in three other cases of robbery as police failed to produce evidence against him.
The fourth case, in which he was granted bail, pertains to an alleged diamond theft.
Additional chief metropolitan magistrate V P Taware released Afroz against a surety of Rs 5,000.
However, Afroz continues to be in jail because he has not secured liberty in a sedition case filed against him and his brother by the Mumbai police.
In the sedition case, police sought to revoke the POTO charge admitting that he had been wrongly booked under the anti-terrorism ordinance.
Twenty-six-year-old Mohammed Afroz was arrested on December three and charged in four cases of robbery.
Later, he was booked in a case of sedition under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) provisions after he told the police about being involved in an international conspiracy to blow up targets abroad.
Afroz claimed that he had undertaken pilot's training abroad and was part of a terrorist squad, which had planned to blow up the British parliament.
