Four armed Naxals opened fire at M Gandhi, inspector of Salur police station and his gunman Chiranjeevi in the premises of a local court where they had gone to present evidence in connection with a case, police in Vizianagarm said.
Gandhi and his gunman were coming out from a court room when suddenly four ultras opened fire at them from point blank range, killing both on the spot, police said.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the Naxals responsible for the killings, they said.
