The fourth position also went to a woman candidate Smita Das (Roll No 008396) from Secunderabad. There are eight women among the first 20 successful candidates.
In all, 427 candidates, including 85 women, have been selected for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services Group 'A' and Group 'B'.
These include 128 from the Other Backward Classes (OBCs), 58 from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and 34 from the Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Women had a success rate of 19.85 per cent, while men had 7.96 per cent in the exam, an official of the UPSC said.
