My son is not an addict: Feroz

Noted film-maker Feroz Khan on Sunday said his son actor Fardeen Khan, who has been arrested on charges of possessing cocaine, was not an addict but had taken the contraband drug 'three or four times' to get relief from stress.

"It is a case of consumption and not possession," Feroz Khan told Star News.

He said when he spoke to his son on Saturday. "He told me 'Pa, I'm not an addict but have taken the drug three or four times in life to get relief from stress'."

"If he does not (come clean of the charge), he is not my son," the senior Khan said in reply to a question.

He said the prima facie case was that it was accused number one, 'someone else', who had possessed nine grams of cocaine.

Fardeen had only gone to him to procure 'one gram' of it worth Rs 2500, Feroz said.

Answering a question, the noted actor and film-maker of yesteryears admitted his son, who was on Sunday remanded to Narcotics Control Bureau custody till May 18, has committed 'a mistake' by procuring 'one gram of cocaine'.

"Yes, it was a mistake. He has to pay for it. Law has to take its course," Feroz Khan said.
