On Wednesday, March 28, sometime between 1530 and 1930 hours IST, the Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle will make its first flight from the Andhra coast.
With that, India hopes to acquire the ability to launch communication satellites indigenously. This, in turn, will facilitate the country's entry into the Space Bazaar, enabling the Indian Space Research Organisation to cater to a client's every space need, from making a satellite to delivering it into orbit.
Special Correspondent M D Riti brings you a three-part series on what the GSLV launch spells for India.
Part 1: 'It is technically a good vehicle'
Part 2: 'A GSLV flight will work out to Rs 4.5 billion'
Part 3: 'The GSLV will fulfill the last element of Sarabhai's vision'
