Three five-star hotels identified
in Agra for summit

Three five-star hotels in Agra have been identified for hosting the July 15-16 Vajpayee-Musharraf summit, informed sources in Delhi indicated on Saturday night.

The hotels are Amar Vilas, Jaypee Palace and Mughal Sheraton and all the three, or at least two, may be chosen when the venues for the various meetings that are expected to take place during the summit are finalised.

Officials of the protocol wing of the external affair ministry, who recently visited Agra, are expected to finalise the venues shortly.

Pakistan President Gen Pervez Musharraf would be arriving in Delhi on July 14 and is expected to spend the day in the Capital attending the ceremonial reception and banquet hosted by President K R Narayanan besides visiting his ancestral home in Old Delhi.

He is likely to stay for the night in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Musharraf will fly to Agra the next morning and hold talks with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee followed by delegation level parleys. Vajpayee would be hosting a banquet for Musharraf in Agra.

The talks are expected to continue on July 16. Musharraf is scheduled to leave for Ajmer Sharif after lunch before emplaning for Pakistan in the evening.
