Musharraf seeks to change history

He said on Pakistan Television that he would visit New Delhi, to meet Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, with an open mind.

He also said that it would be regrettable if there was no progress in the long-festering dispute over Kashmir, as in the past.

"I am sure my counterparts in India... will also show open-mindedness and this time we will change history," he said.

Musharraf was participating in a live PTV-PBC interactive audience participated programme.

A panel of interviewers asked him questions on current issues, in the one-and-a-half hour live Face the Nation programme.
