India on Monday night said all outstanding differences with Pakistan will be resolved bilaterally.
In a clear rejection of the comments made by US Secretary of State Colin Powell that Washington could lend its good offices to help India and Pakistan improve their relations, an external affairs ministry spokesperson said, "They (US) are aware of our position. We have on every occasion pointed out that outstanding issues between India and Pakistan must be resolved bilaterally."
"Any outside involvement in this process does not arise," she added.
Powell's remark came a day after comments by US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Christina Rocca that India and Pakistan should resolve the Kashmir problem 'taking into account the wishes of the Kashmiri people'.
New Delhi has made it clear that there could be no third party involvement in Indo-Pak talks on Kashmir.
India and Pakistan, she stressed, have to continue with the whole dialogue process at the bilateral level.
