PM should not visit Pakistan: RSS

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday said it was not in favour of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee visiting Pakistan for peace talks 'in the present atmosphere' and demanded that Indian security forces destroy Pakistan-based supply lines of militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir.

Stating that RSS was not surprised at the outcome of the Agra summit, RSS spokesman M G Vaidya said that nothing would be gained if Vajpayee visits Pakistan in the present circumstances.

Taking strong exception to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's description of militancy in the Valley as a 'freedom struggle' and his meeting with Hurriyat representatives, Vaidya said: "Pakistan has no role to play in the Valley. The Valley may have problems but they are not to be addressed by Pakistan."

India, he said, should lobby hard to get Pakistan declared as a terrorist state.

"Our security forces should cut off the supply lines for terrorists located across the border," he said.
