Islamabad will fully protect an Indo-Iranian gas pipeline if it passes through Pakistan and cooperate with both countries in this regard, Online news agency reported.
Foreign office spokesman Riaz Muhammad Khan told Radio Tehran: "The safety of the gas pipeline is not an issue. Pakistan supports the project and believes it would strengthen the economies of the region."
He said the total length of Pakistan's main gas pipeline was over 8,000 km and the total length of the supply pipeline more then 60,000 km.
"These pipelines are fully protected and the one between Iran and India will also be taken care of," he said.
