Musharrafs present 2 books, shawl to their guide

When President Pervez Musharraf and Begum Sehba, after their hour-long enchanting date with the Taj Mahal on Sunday, were presented with a photo collection of the monument titled Various Moods of Taj, the president presented his guide K K Mohammed, an Archeological Survey of India (ASI) official, two books on Pakistan and a silk shawl.

The books are Wonders of Karakoram and A Journey Through Pakistan, Mohammed said.

The Musharrafs had the experience of a lifetime viewing the beauty of the Taj during their date with the 17th century world heritage monument.

"I have never come across such an inquisitive couple. They were interested in each and every detail of the monument," Mohammed said, adding, "they enjoyed every minute of their visit".

"After inquiring about the inlay works and jali work on stone, the president asked me about the height of the monument, which is 243 metres," he said.

The president was also very delighted to hear that the chief craftsman of the Taj Mahal was Ustad Ahmed Lahori, Mohammed added
