Lashkar vows to step up terrorist activities

The extremist Lashkar-e-Tayiba has vowed to keep fighting Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir until the state is "liberated".

Lashkar head Hafiz Saeed was quoted as saying that the group would call off its jihad only when India pulled out its security forces from the state.

"We are not going to stop until India guarantees peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. We will not stop with verbal promises," Hafiz said.

"We plan major operations against Indian military installations in Kashmir and would continue to carry out such actions until liberation."

"India has itself opted for war and our freedom fighters are well equipped and trained to rise to the challenge. War is their selected option and we are not to be blamed for this," he added.
