Hurriyat discusses strategy
for Musharraf meeting

The Hurriyat Conference executive committee is meeting in Delhi to discuss the strategy to be adopted at its closed-door meeting with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

This is for the first time in the six-year history of Hurriyat that its executive committee is meeting in the national capital, founder chairman of the 23-party conglomerate, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, told PTI.

"We would be discussing the point of discussions with Musharraf during our one-to-one meeting with him," he said.

"We will meet Musharraf before the reception at the Pakistani high commission and discuss with him a host of issues relating to Kashmir, including evolving a mechanism to include Kashmiris in the Indo-Pak talks at a later stage."

The Hurriyat, however, would be meeting Musharraf without one of its important constituents -- the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front -- which has announced its decision to boycott the meeting.

The Hurriyat leaders will also meet Pakistan Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar after holding consultations with Musharraf, Farooq said.
