Visa norms: Abdullah asks Pak to
respond positively to Indian initiative

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday asked Pakistan to respond positively to the Indian initiative of establishing visa centres at various places easing travel restrictions for Pakistan nationals.

"Pakistan should give a positive response to the Indian initiative on establishing visa centres," he said in Srinagar.

Expressing hope that the Agra summit would help the process of normalisation of relations between the neighbours, he said nothing big should be expected at the first meeting.

"The process would yield dividends in due course of time," Farooq said addressing a function to commemorate the first death anniversary of his mother.

The two countries were faced with many pulls and pressures and these could be overcome through a sagacious approach to the problems, he said.
