Lashkar rejects plea for ceasefire during Indo-Pak talks

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba on Tuesday rejected a plea by Maulana Fazal-ur Rehman, leader of Pakistan's Jamait-e-Ulema-e-Islam, for a ceasefire during the upcoming Indo-Pak summit.

The militant outfit said the solution to the Kashmir issue 'lies in Jihad only.'

Lashkar chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed said, "his men can in no way stop their activities until the Indian forces occupy Kashmir."

"We should learn a lesson from India's ceasefire game that it played in the sacred month of Ramzan," he said.

Rehman had last week appealed to militant groups to announce an indefinite ceasefire to enable India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir issue.

'Guns should fall silent' for sometime in Kashmir in order to facilitate India and Pakistan to address the 'legitimate concerns' of all parties to the dispute, Rehman said.
