France has despatched the anti-submarine frigate, Dupleix, from her Indian Ocean fleet, to Bombay for the International Fleet Review 2001. The frigate is named after Joseph Francois Dupleix, the French governor who failed to capture India for France. Had Dupleix's forces not been vanquished by Robert Clive, it could well have been Viva la France! for India.
