3 Chotta Rajan gangsters shot dead in Bangalore

MD Riti in Bangalore

Three gangsters working for Bombay mafia don Chhota Rajan were shot dead in Bangalore close to midnight on Wednesday.

Although the Bombay police were in Bangalore on Wednesday, hunting for them, it was the Bangalore police who eventually shot them near a bus stop close to the Bangalore airport.

The three men, now identified as Yashwant Chika, Jagadish Fakir and Sushil Gaonkar, were suspected to have been involved in the killing of jeweller Sumer Chand Surana last week in Bangalore.

The trio were apparently fleeing to Bangkok. They were actually on their way to the airport at Domlur in Bangalore when the police caught up with them.

There was an exchange of fire. The Bangalore police said all three men were shot in the encounter. No policemen were shot.

Two imported pistols and one country-made pistol were recovered from them. The Bangalore police said they have reason to believe that these three men had been operating in Bangalore for a while.
