The re-launch of the aborted Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-D1), the first developmental flight in this series, has been tentatively scheduled for April 18-19.
The Indian Space Research Organisation is expected to come out with a formal announcement in this regard in a couple of days.
A detailed analysis of data taken up soon after the vehicle failed to lift off on March 28, showed that the malfunctioning of a gas injector led to the problem.
Sources said the faulty gas injector was being replaced and the Vikas engine in the damaged strap-on was also being dismantled to rectify the snag.
The vehicle has been designed to deploy a 1540-kg test communication satellite (GSAT-1) in the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit with a perigee of 180 km and an apogee of 36,000 km.
After two successful launches of developmental flights, ISRO would be in a position to launch operational flights and deploy 2000-kg class communication satellites on its own.
