Dr Rajakumar's wife hospitalised

E-Mail this report to a friend

Fakir Chand in Bangalore

Parvathamma, the beleaguered wife of Kannada film icon Dr Rajakumar, was rushed to a private hospital in Bangalore on Wednesday night after she complained of chest pain and weakness. Forest brigand Veerappan had abducted Dr Rajakumar on the night of July 30.

Apparently, the agonising wait for the return of her husband has taken a heavy toll of the 63-year-old lady's health.

According to doctors at Mallya Hospital, she is under close observation, and that there was no immediate cause for worry. A team of doctors, led by specialist Dr Ramani Rao, is attending on her.

Hospital sources, however, refused to disclose further details without the consent of her family members. Media persons, who rushed to the hospital even as the news spread, were asked to wait for a medical bulletin expected to be issued by the medical superintendent late in the night.

Ever since Dr Rajakumar was kidnapped, along with three others, from his native place at Gajanur on the fringe of the Iggalur-Satyamangalam forest range, bordering the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, his family members have been praying at various temples and shrines for his safe and early return.
