BJP-BJD may sweep OrissaThe Biju Janata Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be inching towards a landslide majority in Orissa. The alliance is leading in 71 (the BJP in 22 and the BJD in 49) constituencies. The Congress is ahead in 30 seats. Others are leading in 18 seats. In Hinjli, Union Minister and Biju Janata Dal president Naveen Patnaik was leading by 991 votes over his nearest rival Udaynath Nayak of the Congress after the first round of counting of votes. Most Congress ministers in the state are trailing. Former chief minister and senior Congress leader J B Patnaik is also trailing.
