US links cooperation to nuke issuesThe United States has linked progress in its ongoing talks with New Delhi on non-proliferation issues to cooperation in a wide array of fields with India. ''The progress in non-proliferation issues will definitely lead to Indo-US collaboration in many vital sectors,'' US Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson, who arrived in New Delhi last night, told reporters at the Indira Gandhi international airport. Richardson will attend the Confederation of Indian Industry summit on energy and efficiency today. During his brief stay, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh. He is also likely to meet top officials of the environment and power ministries. ''Progress on talks on non-proliferation can lead to cooperation in many areas,'' he noted. UNI
