Sonia's 'hint' raises hopesSonia Gandhi, who recently resigned as Congress president, has said that she would 'not let the party down'. She made this comment when a delegation of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee called on her at her residence yesterday. Sonia's statement assumes significance in the wake of the special All India Congress Committee session, convened on Tuesday primarily to request her to withdraw her resignation. The statement has fuelled speculation that she would withdraw her resignation. The delegation included KPCC president S M Krishna, former Union minister B Shankaranand and Congress parliamentary party secretary M Hanumanthappa. Meawhile, expelled Congress leaders Sharad Pawar, Purno A Sangma and Tariq Anwar are likely to meet today. They may announce the name of their new party/front.
