CBI arrests Pappu Yadav for MLA's murder

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested former MP, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav from his residence in Patna in connection with the murder of Communist Party of India-Marxist legislator Ajit Sarkar last year.

He had been absconding for the last couple of months following the confessional statement of his alleged hitman Rajan Tewari.

Official sources said a special CBI team raided his Puniachak house under the Shastri Nagar police station and took him to its headquarters for further interrogation.

The CBI had announced a cash award to anyone providing clues about his whereabouts.
