One infiltrator shot dead, 2 injured in JammuIndian troops foiled an infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district late Monday night when they gunned down one person and injured two. Elsewhere in the region, a security personnel and two women were killed in militancy related incidents. An official spokesman said troops noticed suspicious movement on the Line of Control in Mendhar sector late in the night. When they sighted some armed infiltrators sneaking in from Nangi Takri post, they challenged them. An encounter followed, which killed and injured the Pakistani infiltrators. The injured, however, managed to flee back leaving behind one radio-set, two grenades and some ammunition. The slain was identified as Abu-Shahib, the spokesman said. Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot dead Gineshu Devi and Premi Devi at village Parishomole in Kishtwar Tehsil of Doda district Monday evening. UNI
