Sonia walks out of CWC meeting
Congress president Sonia Gandhi today left the party's working committee meeting, leaving it to other members to take an appropriate decision on the issue raised by Sharad Pawar, Purno Sangma and Tariq Anwar. The working committee meeting began at 1930 hours at the All India Congress Committee headquarters. Sonia was present only for a few minutes. The meeting was convened to consider the issue raised by Pawar, Sangma and Anwar, suggesting a constitutional amendment to ensure that the posts of President, vice-president and prime minister were occupied only by those citizens born in India. Sonia left the meeting as the matter of discussion concerned her. All the CWC members except the three who wrote the letter attended the meeting. UNI
