General Zinni has 'productive' talksC K Arora in Washington Marine General Anthony Zinni, commander-in-chief of the United States' central command, is returning to Washington today after 'productive meetings' in Islamabad with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief, army Chief Pervez Musharraf and other civil and military officials. According to a state department official, General Zinni will present a detailed report to US President Bill Clinton who had sent him on this peace mission. He is understood to have gone to Islamabad to tell the Pakistan government to withdraw ''forces, supported by Pakistan, from the Indian side of the Line of Control''. UNI
