Army capable of destroying military targets in PoKIndia can launch artillery attacks on any military target inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir that interferes with its operations against intruders in Kargil and Drass sectors, a defence spokesman said on Friday in New Delhi. Referring to reports about Indian attacks on a Pakistani camp in the Skardu region, Army Spokesman Colonel Bikram Singh said, ''Any military target that is interfering in our operations could be engaged. This could be one such target.'' He said the operation in Kargil was progressing 'as per the plans.' Pakistan, meanwhile, was resorting to artillery and mortar shelling in Keran, Krishnaghati and Nowshera sectors, he added. Air Force Spokesman Group Captain D N Ganesh said the Indian Air Force had dealt a blow to the enemy, the ground effect of which would be visible in a few days. He said the IAF conducted only reconnaissance missions Friday, as there were no specific demand from the army. Asked about the reported air intrusion by Pakistan in Jammu region's Kanachak area, the IAF spokesman said it was done by an air model, which was not carrying anything and was ''pretty harmless.''
