IAF continues air strikesThe Indian Air Force continued its air strikes against Pakistan-supported infiltrators in the Kargil sector this morning. An IAF spokesman said 'missions were taken out' in the Drass and Batalik sectors where fighter planes and helicopter gunships have been targeting the intruders' bunkers, tents and stores. Indian artillery and mortar attacks continued in the Drass, Batalik sectors and Mushkoh valley as an offensive had been launched with a view to cutting off the few existing maintenance routes of the infiltrators. The action was particularly fierce in the Tiger hills area of Drass where a key post had been won by the Indian troops after the bunkers had been destroyed. So far India has lost 59 men while 217 have been wounded and 14 are missing. UNI
