Minister's rare gesture for dead sergeantIn a rare gesture, Union Minister of State for Coal Dilip Ray today donated Rs 100,000 from his personal account to the father of sergeant and flight engineer Raj Kishore Sahu who was killed in the Kargil conflict recently. The minister visited the house of the martyr at Choudwar, about 55 km from Srinagar this morning, and handed over the draft for the amount to his father Krushna Chandra Sahu. Ray also promised to sanction funds from his Member of Parliament's relief fund for the construction of a 'martyr pillar' in memory of Raj Kishore following a demand to this effect from the local people.
