Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has said that Pakistan will never dare repeat a Kargil-type incursion.

Speaking at a function in Jawbhara village in Awantipur, he asked Islamabad to ''stop cross-border terrorism. International pressure is building on Pakistan for stopping militancy in Jammu and Kashmir... Pakistan has been spreading a canard that Islam was in danger in Kashmir for furthering its ends. But they stand exposed now before the people who suffered a lot due to their misadventure."

He asked Pakistan to let the "people of Jammu and Kashmir live in peace and warned them to desist from any misadventure in future".
