15 massacred in J&K

Mahaboob Khan in Jammu

At least 15 civilians, including eight women, were killed and six injured when militants attacked Lihota village in Kishtwar tehsil of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir last night.

Police sources said today that a group of militants armed with sophisticated weapons started firing on the villagers killing 15 of them on the spot.

The victims included eight women, two children and five village defence committee members. They injured were being air lifted to the government medical college, Jammu.
