Mughalsarai renamed Deen Dayal Nagar

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh today announced the renaming of Mughalsarai as Deen Dayal Nagar.

At a rally organised near Mughalsarai, Singh said the late Jan Sangh president Deen Dayal Upadhyay was a nationalist thinker and revolutionary and the place of his martyrdom should be named after him.

Upadhyay was found murdered in the Mughalsarai railway marshalling yard 30 years ago.

The chief minister also announced a grant of Rs20 million for the construction of a memorial, a park, and a library in memory of Upadhyay.
