150 killed as trains collide in WBAt least 150 people were killed early today as two trains collided at Gaisan station, near New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. Over 300 people are reportedly hurt in the accident. Unofficial sources, however, put the death toll at 250. The accident occurred when the Brahmaputra Mail rammed into the stationary Abodh-Assam Express at the Gaisan station at 0155 hours today. Such was the force of the collision that it was initially mistaken for an explosion.
