Two dead, three hurt in Delhi train blastTwo people were killed and three others injured when a bomb exploded in the rear motor coach of the Delhi-Panipat electric motor shuttle last evening. The blast occurred after the train, which started from Panipat at 5.20 pm, had just passed through Holambi Kalan in west Delhi at 6.40 pm. Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Chandralekha Mukherjee said that two of those injured had been admitted to a private nursing home, one was taken to the Bara Hindu Rao hospital. Divisional Railway Manager Rakesh Chopra rushed to the site for an on-the-spot inspection. Northern Railway General Manager Subhash Mehta, the chief medical officer and the chief security commandant of the Railway Protection Force also visited the spot. The nature of the explosion was not immediately known but the police hinted at the involvement of Kashmir militants in the blast. |
