'DMK should not bail out Vajpayee government'Puthiya Thamizhagam president K Krishnasamy today appealed to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam not to support the Vajpayee government on the pretext that the All India Anna DMK was leaving the BJP-led coalition and was joining the Congress-led opposition front. Addressing a press conference, he said no Dravidian party which had its origin in the self-respect movement should align with the Hindutva forces. The AIADMK had committed a mistake by helping the BJP to form a coalition government at the Centre, he alleged. The Centre had done nothing for the country except for instilling a sense of insecurity among the minorities. This being the case, any Dravidian party going to the aid of the Vajpayee government, would amount to betrayal of the people of Tamil Nadu. He favoured a mid-term poll rather than forming an alternative government, which would only be even worse that the present one. UNI
