Chandra Shekhar appeals for end to political uncertaintyFormer prime minister Chandra Shekhar has warned that although the present government has to face some inherent contradictions, the issue on which the existence of the government is threatened may do serious damage to the system of parliamentary democracy and made an appeal to end the perpetual crisis of uncertainty. Unfortunately, the former prime minister warned in an editorial in the upcoming issue of the Young Indian, the emerging alternatives have focussed their energy on discrediting their political opponents. All the political parties girding themselves for power are more interested in chalking up numbers. When the ruling group becomes willing to pay any price to survive in office, others also become ready to drum up support through motley groupings to achieve the magic number. Giving up petty manoeuvrings to serve petty political ends .. Is the only course left for an effective and credible alternative.Uni rp ac sp1710 mumbai 17 13 |
