BJP coordination panel to meet on Sunday eveningThe crucial coordination committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition parties will be held on November 29 to review the latest political situation and the fallout of the November 25 assembly poll results on the ruling coalition. The meeting, called by Defence Minister and coordination committee convenor George Fernandes, would be held at Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's official residence at 1900 hours, by which time almost all results would be out, Samata Party sources said. Sources said the Sunday meeting will also discuss the government's stand to be taken on various crucial issues during the winter session of Parliament commencing from November 30. The partners of the ruling coalition have taken this meeting seriously in the wake of adverse exit poll surveys which have indicated rout for the BJP in Delhi and Rajasthan while it is running and a neck and neck race in Madhya Pradesh. With Vajpayee's comments at Lucknow yesterday that the future was 'pregnant with possibilities,' the meeting has assumed added significance. UNI |
